Andrew Rivera · Mechanical Engineer

The engineer behind 3DXera.

I'm Andrew Rivera, a mechanical engineer. 3DXera is my independent engineering portfolio and workspace for mechanical design, robotics, controls, simulation, test and validation, and physical engineering projects.

3DXERA / PORTFOLIO V1 SHEET 1 OF 1 SCALE 1:1

Engineering grounded in real hardware.

I'm a mechanical engineer (B.S., Cal State LA) with five years of experience on the hardware side of robotics and automation: humanoid robot fleet support, battery and thermal validation, and production equipment maintenance.

My work has centered on diagnosing physical systems, isolating mechanical, electrical, and software faults, and supporting the test and repair work needed to return equipment to operation.

3DXera is my independent portfolio and engineering workspace: a home for mechanical design, robotics, controls, simulation, test and validation, and physical engineering projects.

    DEEPMIND2026

    Mechatronics Engineer · Contract

Via Amaze Systems · Mountain View, CA

Robotics triage team supporting Apptronik Apollo 2 fleet reliability — electromechanical diagnostics on humanoid robots in active deployment, component and service support, and escalation of recurring failures to engineering.

  2. APPLE2024 — 2025

    Senior Test Engineer · Contract

    Via HCLTech · Sunnyvale, CA

Two successive assignments under one title. Battery Automation Qualification: automation qualification across battery-related test systems, fixtures, and hardware testing. Thermal Design Validation: thermal chambers, IR thermography, and DAQ instrumentation — test execution and the data work around it.

  3. AMAZON2019 — 2024

    Mechatronics Technician

    Mechatronics & Robotics Apprentice (2021) → Mechatronics Technician (2022–2024)

Preventive maintenance, root-cause diagnosis, and reliability work across automated material-handling equipment; read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and PLC logic to isolate faults. The apprenticeship combined formal technical education with on-the-job training.

  4. EDUCATION2019

    B.S., Mechanical Engineering

    California State University, Los Angeles

Senior Design: 3D Printing of Graphene–Piezoelectric Composites.

PMMI Mechatronics & Robotics Automation certification — Lehigh Carbon Community College, 2021.
